Hi, I did applied for mutual divorce with agreement of 8.5 lakh Alimony.
Already paid 4 lakh, Remaining amount I need pay next month.
Now I am unable to pay that money, due to covid19 financial problems.
1. How much time max I can ask from court?
2. If am unable to pay remaining amount what will happen?

A.Hi,
You may discuss with wife, mutually finalize a date and the same may propose to court vide a memo.

There is no provision in law providing an extension under such circumstances. However, you can be hopeful that better sense shall prevail upon the other side and the other side shall suitably accommodate you. In an event of the other side not accommodating you, you may take legal recourse which shall completely depend upon the terms agreed upon by and between the parties. Since you have not provided copy of 'Terms of Compromise' or Copy of Petition seeking divorce by mutual consent, it is not possible to guide you further. You may however seek my contact number from vidhikarya and pursuant to payment of appropriate fees and sharing of documents, further advice can be given. There are judgments of various highcourts governing the subject , however a few things shall also depend on the state you and your wife live in.
In short, further details would be required to provide a comprehensive solution.
