I am working in company. my boss ordered to bring a 5KG gas cylinder from another division of our company. When I was bringing. It the cylinder fell down from bike and lost somewhere. I searched for it but I did not get it. When it told it to my employer he asked me to pay for the cylinder and demanded new cylinder. I have to pay for this now.



I want to ask whether is it legal act as done by employer? Can he ask me to compensate?? Please. Help me.. cylinder cost 5000.

A.Dear Sir,
If you wish to continue your relations with your employer you can pay and continue your job peacefully otherwise you have to face hell in the hands your employer or to go out of service.

its not about payment. its about whats right and wrong? today i will pay but what if same happens again with me in future or with any other staff which might be huge cost loss.

A.U should have intimated the police first regarding the lost of cylinder and write to employer that cylinder is lost during course of employment.Empoyer may consider your case.If employer refused,u may go to Labour officer and ultimately to Labour Court but remember you may risk your job

A.Emplyoing Law for this will cost you more than Rs. 5000/- . Try to solve by goodwill, ask him to deduct Rs. 200 or so per moth from your salary.
