My landlord issue me a letter stating that to handover the rent amount to Mr X which is one of the landlord of the premises. Is it justify for a tenant like me to clarify whether Mr X have purchased my tenanted portion or not? Whether Mr X is the legal landlord or not? How to know ?What to do? Only a letter of handover of rent without knowing the actual fact?Is it justify for a tenant like me?

A.The Letter will contain the reasons for paying rent to Mr. X.
If it does not have details, you can check the reason for same with your owner.
In case if you pay the rent to Mr.X, you should make through bank only and under proper acknowledgement.
It is advisable to check the ownership details by asking your present owner in writing and getting the reply in writing.
Yes, it is very much justified. It is your right to know as to why you are paying rent to Mr. X, when your owner is some one else.
