Accountable Receipt

What do you mean accountable receipt.Is accountable receipt equivalent to rent receipt? My landlord is providing me accountable receipt as a receipt of rent payment?Is it legal?What to do?
A.Accountable receipt is equivalent to the rent receipt but it is better to very clearly specify that it is the rent receipt as in the column of accountable received.... it can be understood for goods and services or the money received but the purpose of such accountable received is not known till the end ......again he can make adverse claim that he has not received the rent so it is is better to you tell write it as rent received kindly mention it very specifically that it is rent receipts... THE ONLY EXCEPTION IS THAT IF YOUR HOUSE OWNER IS IS CURRENTLY IN ANY KIND OF GOVERNMENT SERVICE THEN ONLY YOU MAY NOT BE ABLE TO PROVIDE YOU WITH THE ACTUAL RENT RECEIPTS... IN THAT CASE IT CAN BE EXCEPTION THAT HE DOES NOT WANT TO SHOW IT AS A PART OF INCOME FOR TAX PURPOSE..

A.The meaning of is as follows:
...."An Instrument Acknowledging the receipt of money or personal property, coupled with an obligation to account for or pay or deliver the whole or some part of it to some person".......
Thus, going by the above definition, the Accountable Receipt issued by your Land Lord is valid, further, let the details of money received be mentioned in the Receipt i.e., Rent for such and such month 2020 etc.
Make sure that, at lease TWO REVENUE stamps are affixed on the said Receipt and he signs across the stamps by cancelling them.
