My son is demanding for his share of the ancestral flat by asking for its equivalent money to be paid. What is the process to get this done? What options do I have to determine the correct flat value as of today? What all documents need to be taken from him after payment of his share.

A.You can get the flat value from the concerned Sub Registrar or District Registrar of your place i.e., Market Value Certificate of the Flat can be obtained from there.
You can get family settlement deed executed by your son or get release deed from him.

A.Being it is ancestral property during your lifetime your son has no role to demand it as right. If you have decided to give a monetary compensation to your son then you can be enter into partition with him for registration and future safety
