Hindu Succession Act judgement - will affect property given in regd gift deed Hindu Succession Act judgement - will affect property given in regd gift deed

My father has given his house to me through a registered gift deed. Ours is not a Hindu Undivided Family and the property and the surrounding land area was bought by my father and constructed from his own sources. Since now I am the absolute owner of this property, will this affect my rights to assign this property to any of my children as per my will and pleasure ? This is in view of the recent judgement on Hindu Succession Act giving equal rights to women on coparcenary property with retrospective effect.

A.Dear client
After getting through duly registered gift deed this becomes your self acquired property and you can deal with this as per your wish. you have complete ownership and right over this. Succession law will not affect as your father has gifted it during his life time .

A.The amendment deals with ancestral property only and coparcener but amendment has nothing to do with self acquired property of a person. The amendment does not effect retrospectively. So enjoy. The latest SC judgement does not apply in your case.
