Maternity Leave for govt. female employee
5 years ago
Hello, I am working in Gujarat Electricity Board from 2 years on regular basis. I have 60 Earned Leave balance. So I can get 6 month maternity leave + 2 months Earned Leave total 8 months without any issues as per my knowledge. Now the question is if I want more 1 to 2 year leave for child care then what should I do? This leave type will be LWP (Leave Without Pay). Will wait for your replies.. Thank You.
A.Dear Sir,
You may apply for Leave Without Pay but the management may not sanction, if sanctioned then every women employee will apply and the management unable to run its activities.

A.You are entitled as per the terms & conditions of Board leave rules applicable to permanent employees. You can avail the maternity benefit and leave as per the terms & conditions. Better to take prior approval of your maternity leave & EL and LWP as case may be and get your advance leave plan duly sanctioned in writing to avoid any problems later on.
