Recovery by ex employer for money paid to me Recovery by ex employer for money paid to me

My ex employer is trying to intimidate me to pay back some amount which they paid in Full and Final amount when I resigned. They have lodged a complaint with police but I have shifted to a new city. Do I have to visit police station in a different city or talk to police on phone because the police are calling me. Can I avoid the police.

A.complaint with police is not intimidating for some amount.
Employer want to and able to lodged complaint at police means big amount and/or issue or else its fake call.
Ask police if it is only complaint or FIR.

Hope this clarifies,
