Seller sold a site over which he was yet to aquire a legal title. Seller sold a site over which he was yet to aquire a legal title.

I have purchased a site from a developer in 2008 and the site was to be sold by them from the 40% quota over which they will aquire selling title after getting release order from the authorities. The sale deed registered is defective and it is cheating and I am deprived of using the property even after 12 years of sale. Where can I question and what compensation will I get in terms of money?

A.Hi,
The facts of your case are not clear.
Adverse possession is a doctrine under which a person in possession of land owned by someone else may acquire valid title to it, so long as certain common law requirements are met, and the adverse possessor is in possession for a sufficient period of time, as defined by a statute of limitations.
More information is required regarding the fact that whether you were in possession of the property or not.

A.Dear Sir,
If you are in possession then go to the Court and file suit for declaration as you have perfected your title to the said land by way of adverse possession.
