Hi sir, I have a general query, there in my manufacturing premises a policeman entered without any permission with holding phone camera to record if someone is not wearing mask, there was one defaulter whose mask was on his mouth not covering nose only for which charges were born by us. I want to ask can any policemen enter premises like that (there was a so called SDM behind him in neighbouring premises) . Isn't there any legal or formal permission required to enter the premise. Can any policemen enter like that? Is there something we can do, or ask them, as they were shouting on us in our premises! Any solution to their misbehaviour?

A.Hi,
Police officers do not require a warrant if they have your agreement to carry out a search. Before asking for your consent, however, the officer in charge should explain why the police want to search, inform you that you do not have to give your permission and say that anything seized may be used in evidence.
