Traffic challan Traffic challan

I got stopped by a traffic police officer for not wearing a helmet. He printed a challan (which I'm not sure is real or fake) and when i said I'll pay the challan online he said, "you can't pay online, you have to put money on my hand". When i check online if there's any challan on my bike, it show "No challans" . He also kept my smart card and lisence which he refused to give back. I'm not sure if the challan he gave me is real or not.... Please helppp

A.Hi,
The police cannot retain your documents after you have paid the challan. You can complain on the website of your district police or go the station. The next step would be to file an RTI.

A.Hi,
You can file your complaint at the nearest police station or on the website of your district police if you think the challan is fake. You should also mention that the police took away your documents even after you paid the challan. If no action is taken, you can file an RTI.

A.you are standing on road while asking this question ?
if yes, then you can go with him and pay challan in police station to verify if its real.
if not, then you can verify if challan is real or fake.
if fake then you can file FIR.

Hope this clarifies,
