I did a marriage in Dec 2019, initially, my husband's parents behaved so well now I am having mental stress with so many things. My husband also supports his parents and does not shift with me. Can I file divorce or can I get divorce mutually?

A.If your in-laws harassed you.then file 498A case .nd if you want to live separate from your in laws .then also file domestic voilence case...if you want divorce .then file divorce case and contest it...if you and your husband both agree for the divorce..then file mutual divorce case .it hardly take 5 to 6 months

A.Hi,
After the expiry of one year from date of marriage, you can legally institute divorce proceedings, on the grounds of cruelty by husband's relatives under S.498-A of the Indian Penal Code. If this is not a reason, you shall have to show that there is a complete breakdown of the marital relationship if a Court is to grant you a decree of divorce.
Mutual consent divorces are much easier to go through with and can also be done quicker than contested divorces.

A.Dear Madam,
You can file divorce on the grounds of mental cruelty etc. Both of you may be referred to mediation it may take 6-8 months to give a report after consulting both of you in person. Due to COVID situation such mediations not happening. Better go for mutual divorce if your husband do not extend co-operation then file multiple cases against him.
