What is the position in Indian law when an illegal encroachment of land/forcible occupation of the property is made, by fencing a portion of vacant land recently? Is it a criminal offence or a civil matter? What are the reliefs available? If punishable under IPC, details please.

I'm based in Udupi District in Karnataka. Hence probably it may not be possible to visit your office.

Further, it has been publicised that it is a Free Consultation/ Advisory service, under which category I raised this query. If you can provide answer/opine online free, please be in touch. Thks for responding anyway.

Best wishes.
