Import of Nitrite Chemical Import of Nitrite Chemical

I had ordered few bottles of Amyl Nitrite chemical from Europe, however it's being held by customs. And I recently received a notice to produce Invoice, NOC from competent authorities and bank statement showing transaction.
Can i get in trouble if i show these documents or if i chose to not respond?

A.Hi,
The Customs officials have a right to ask you to produce documents to show lawful ownership of the chemicals. If you do not comply with their instructions, they can seize your items. You will not get into trouble for showing them the necessary documents so long as the product is not illegal in India.
