Overcharging of mobile and smudging of mrp
3 years ago
Mobile shop owner sold me mobile at 1000 ₹ while the on box price was 979 which I got to know after 2-3 days after checking online and he also had produced a bill of 1000₹ and he had also smudged the amount on the box. When I asked him he told take your 21₹ and go and bcz of that I am mentally harassed, What should I do???? I have all valid documents which will definitely prove him guilty
A.Hi,
You can take no action against him if he has repaid the amount due.
Sellers are not allowed to sell goods at rates higher than their MRPs, you can file a complaint with the police about the same.

A.Hi,
If he has repaid the balance due to you, then you will have no legal recourse against him.
If he has not repaid you, you can file a complaint with the police for cheating, but they are unlikely to take you very seriously because of the amount due.
It is illegal for sellers to sell at prices greater than their MRP.
