I have taken a Comprehensive Car Insurance Policy from ----- GENERAL INSURANCE through POLICY BAZAR on May 03rd with Reference ID -----, IDV value Rs 116958/- for a premium of Rs 4379/- as suggested by Policy Bazar, the web aggregator. The payment was made through my ---- Bank Card digitally on May 03, 2020 itself to Policy Bazar, the web aggregator. I have also received a mail from Policy Bazar on May 11, 2020 stating that Soft Copy of the Policy issued and enclosed. I was surprised to see that the Policy issued was not exactly the Policy but just a quote only. It was very disheartening that they even asked my feedback for their total incompetence & lackadaisical attitude. Since then, my ordeal started with Policy Bazar on May 06, 09, 11, Oct 03, 21, 26, Nov 03, 09,17 ,18, 20, 21,23 & 24. Dec 10 & with Digit Insurance on Dec 06 & Dec 14 th. It has been over 8 months the policy is yet to be issued and Policy Bazar was asking 2-7 days time in every of their mail. The last mail received from Policy Bazar was on Dec 10/24th and from ---- Insurance Dec 14th requesting another 2-3 days time. There was no further communication from either of the companies till date despite the request to solve the case to the satisfaction of the claint. In the meanwhile, I took up the matter with IRDAI on Nov 21, 2020 and received acknowledgement with case token registration vide no ------ on Dec 06, 2020. To my dismay, they turned a deaf ear to IRDA’s initiative to resolve the issue for the past 15 days. Further, two reminders one on Dec 23rd and other on Dec 29th were forwarded to the ----- Insurance but to no avail. It is unfortunate that these irresponsible companies are playing with the life of commuters/ people without any slightest iota of repentance and very casual in violating all procedures and time frames set by the controlling authorities, disregarding the rules of the land and thus degrading the authorities for their leniency to be viewed very very seriously. It may please be noted that the liability of both Policy Bazar & --- General Insurance are co-extensive, joint, and several. Any of the defendants where there are more than one at the time of making the application, actually and voluntarily resides or carries on business or personally works for gain.
