Passport Renewal for Minor Son without husband being present
3 years ago
I live in Pune. My minor son’s (age-10 years) passport is expiring in a month’s time. My husband has left us as a family and chosen not to return to Pune. He is not willing to travel here or sign any documents. We have not filed for any divorce or separation case as yet. I do not have his original documents with me. How do I get the passport renewed without his physical presence and his documents?
A.You can renew your minor son's passport with your passport. It is not necessary to produce both the parents passport .

A.Hi,
In case a parent of the minor has a passport, then an attested copy of the passport will have to be submitted along with the application form. Name of the spouse should be endorsed on the passport of one of the parent. In case a parent has a valid passport but name of spouse is not endorsed, then this will have to be done by applying for a re-issue of passport and get the necessary changes done.

A.Hi,
Single women can now apply for the passport of children without the consent of father. The first reform came when the ministry ruled that it was not necessary to provide the name of both parents in the case of a child's passport.
