My father works in a regional rural bank (rrb). He joined as a clerk and later got promoted to officer scale and now he is a manager. At present his gross salary is above 8 lakh. My mother is a housewife. We don't have any other sources of income. Am I eligible for obc ncl certificate. Please clarify. Recently I visited village revenue officer(vro) and he said that your fathers income is above 8lakh so you won't get reservation.

A.Hi,
You father will fall within the creamy layer of OBCs. As such, you cannot apply for an OBC non-creamy layer certificate. However, even as a member of the creamy layer, you are entitled to several benefits due to your OBC category.
