Sc Caste certificate

I just want to validate if my sc caste certificate will be valid for government exams or not. My family hails from UP and they migrated to mumbai, i am born and brought up in mumbai and my caste cert. is issued in mumbai itself and it mentions address of UP also stating that we originally belong from UP, cert. is in original govt recommended format and was issued in 2007 by dy.collector. But name of my village is misspelled there.

Yes, the certificate would be valid. You can have the spelling corrected by making an application.
