Recovery of money

I helped my friend with 3 lakh rupees,said would return by 4-5 months but didn't, only civil case has been filed, hearing is going on and its taking lots of time since the person is not coming to the court. Its been 1.5 years, fir has not been done as well. Please suggest what can be done to fast track this, also can we do fir now ? Only proof i have is chat and bank statement.

A.A criminal case can be filed against the defaulter for recovering.

A.Yes can file criminal case. Court has follow the rules so it will take time.
