Clawback clause from International employer Clawback clause from International employer

I recently accepted a job overseas in UK. They nade ne sign a clawback clause stating that the cost involved in migration will be borne by them but will be recovered in total if I leave the company within one year. Due to some unforeseen circumstances I am unable to move out of India. The visa process has started but I have not yet gone for my biometrics, as per visa site the cost is refundable if the application is not submitted yet. Please let me know what kind of jurisdiction will the employer have on me from UK?

A.Hi,
The country that has jurisdiction will be mentioned in the terms of your contract.
As they have not had to pay anything towards your migration yet, they are unlikely to claim anything from you.
