Subject: Can I purchase an Electric Vehicle (Eg: Tata Nexon EV) in Delhi and awail the 1.5L subsidy given by Delhi Government and then register it in Karnataka (which is where I live)?

I know that for registering a vehicle bought in a different state, one has to pay the road tax of the state that the vehicle is being re-registered in. But for EVs, road tax is exempt as a pocily from the Central Government. So, as my state of Karnataka does not give subsidy for purchase of EVs - can i buy one in Delhi, register there, awail the subsidy, bring to Karnataka and re-register it and not pay any additional road tax or fees? Is this even possible and more importantly is it legal?

Thanks in Advance.

A.Hi,
Yes, you can go ahead with this. However, the cost involved in transporting the vehicle from Delhi to Karnataka might be higher than the subsidy.

A.Hi,
Yes, you can do so, but you will have to mention the correct details of where you bought it when you go for registration. The costs involved in transporting the vehicle from Delhi to Karnataka might be quite high
