Certificate of Registration Certificate of Registration

Sirs, I registered a Trust Deed in SRO office for a public charitable Trust. I obtained a PAN number online. However, to open a bank account, the bank is insisting on a Certificate of Registration for the Trust. I am now aware of any such certificate. My sources in other Trusts also say that the SRO registration of the Trust Deed is good enough. I am also unable to apply online for 12A and 80G exemptions on the income tax portal, because they also ask for a registration with Registrar of Public Trusts. A request for clarification is pending with them for over 10 days. Can you kindly enlighten me whether there is a need for a Certificate of Registration and, if so, who is the authority who issues such certificate. The Trust is registered in Chennai, Tamil Nadu under Indian Public Trust Act 1882. Thanks
