The laptop given to me by my institute was stolen from the college staffroom during lunch time. The staffroom has cabins for us faculty members and a common faculty area where we can sit together and interact with each other. The laptop was stolen from the common area (cctv). The management says it is negligence on my part as i had left it on the table in the common area and has decided to make me pay for it. Is this right?
