Maternity Benefits

I am working in an IT company in Bangalore. My company is not allowing me to take maternity leave citing less than 10 employees are working there. Do I have any maternity benefits applicable as per Indian/Karnataka maternity act? Can I take any legal action on this?

A.Hi,
You are entitled to claim maternity benefit as it will be stressful to you and your baby if you are overworked. Serve them with legal notice requesting the same.

A.You cannot avail 6 months paid leave as Maternity Act benefit because the Act applies to organizations having more than 10 employees.
