Q.Laws regarding screening of movies
Hi, I am a college student. I'm starting a club in our college for film critique and appreciation. A major part of the clubs activities in screening movies, probably in a venue like a classroom, for 30-40 people.
However, I want this to be done legally and major screenings for large audiences purchase the movie for more than 30k, but we dont have that kind of money. Is it possible, or legal, to screen movies for such a small audience? The purpose is to encourage film critique.
Thanks

A. ) As long as your screening movies in private that is with due permission from the college authorities without any impediments, however any public audience better to obtain all legal requirements & permission from the enforcing authorities.

Thank you for the reply sir. Does this mean that, if we conduct the screenings with the intent of film appreciation and critique, we will not face legal issues, as opposed to conducting a screen just for entertainment purposes(like a theatre)
Thank you

Hi Sir
Thank you for the reply.
Is getting such a license difficult and expensive?
Please note this is not a normal screening such as a theatre for entertainment, it is for film appreciation and critique.
Thank you
