Bipolar wife wants divorce

I’ve been married for 16 years . I’ve been taking care of My wife who is diagnosed with Bipolar disorder . Every year she gets an episodes of mania and depression and it lasts for 1-2 months and I go through all the harrowing experience and get her treated and continue. I do so because I love her so much. Every now and she says she wants divorce when ever she meets someone ( who always exploit her condition to extract some money) . This she has met some fraud who I believe is aware of her condition and has advised her to leave me. I believe he has plans to extract money basis our divorce. Now my wife is still in episode and this time around it’s pretty strong and I don’t we can explain the rationale to her.

A.Hi,
If you are convinced that you do not wish to divorce her, you can try marriage counselling in an attempt to work out your differences. She can seek treatment from a mental healthcare specialist to better manage her disorder. However, mental illness is a valid ground for divorce if you wish to go down that route.

A.Hi,
If you do not wish to divorce her, you can opt for couples counselling to resolve your differences. She should also see a mental health specialist to treat and manage her condition.

A.Yes, such facts of your wife\'s medical history of intermittent attacks of Bi-polar disorder - (insanity of mind) before or after the marriage is one of the conditional factor that breaches the conditions of Hindu Marriage sepcified u/s 5 (ii) (c) of the H.M. Act, 1955 and thereby you can seek a decree of nullity of the marriage u/s 11 of the H.M. Act, 1955. Then it will not be necessary to seek decree for judicial separation,us/ 10 of the H.M.Ac or decree of divorce u/s 13 of the H.M. Act, 1955.
The private doctor consultation papers after marriage is sufficient for initiation of an application under 11 of the H.M.Act for legal evidential purpose.Thank you

A.Dont worry if you know that person who is trying to exploit her condition and if you have valid proof against him you can approach to police station and file a criminal complaint against him .You can also send a legal notice to him if u know his whereabouts warning to refrain from such activities .You can also file an application of injuction against him not to approach to your wife anywhere neither in your house.Do rate me if advise found helpful.
