Information regarding legal repercussion to pranking a pimp Information regarding legal repercussion to pranking a pimp

A close friend of ours got duped of 20000 rupees on pretext of getting sexual services from a so called escorts agency. He is reluctant to approach the police and has only disclosed this incident to his close friends including me. To exact avenge for our friend’s misfortune and to cheer him up, we decided to prank the same agency from a different phone number. We called the same pimp today and somehow convinced him to first send an escort ” to a nearby hotel, and when he did so, we did not respond to the calls of either the pimp, or the lady. He has been threatening me via text messages, saying that he will take legal action for causing him inconvenience. Can I get in legal trouble for pranking him?

A.Hi,
He cannot initiate legal action against you as his nature of business in itself is illegal.

A.Hi,
He cannot take a legal action as such services are illegal in India, so any legal action against you would also invite legal scrutiny against him as well.

A.I wonder if such service is legal in India at the first place. And if you carry out any illegal activity the law does not come to your aid in case there is any damage that you suffer. hence the escort services will not be in a position to sue you strictly unless they are running the service under some legal pretext in which case you can challenge their real nature of business and they may eventually get into trouble so in either case it is in their interest that they do not resort to legal action against you.
