I am a clerk in a bank. Yesterday one lady came to close her gold loan. The total due amount was 1528219 but she only gave 1500219 which I didn't notice at that time. While closing cash I was short by 28000. When we checked the cctv and figured out that she has given 28000 less. When we called her, she claims to have given the whole amount. What can be done legally to get the money back.

A.Sir as you know that being a teller at the counter either shortage or excess is a liability and responsibility of the Teller. So, at the branch close the account by paying from your own pocket/ account which you must have done. Then report the BM and your regional office about the incidence.
Post that with the help of your IT manager save a copy of the CCTV footage and then write a letter to the lady asking her to pay the extra 28000.

A.Hi,
It is clear that you made a mistake here and you have no legal remedy. But the bank can file for loan recovery and then show CCTV as evidence.

यह सलाह सिर्फ आपके कथनों के अनुसार हैं।

A.There is big mistake on your part. Bank can refuse closure of loan account. Bank can raise demand of short money failing which to refuse to close account.
