Is conducting an online contest legal in India?

I want to organize an online contest where I will be collecting entry fees and at the end of contest will be rewarding cash prizes.Is it legal?
And can people under 18 participate in contest?
What rules should I follow

People below 18 years cannot contest. If your game is on high profile then you have to get register it other wise you can do it.

A.See online games are yet not well regulated in India and are in its nascent stage. The problem is that there is very is thin line between online games/contest and gambling and its difficult to differentiate between the two. As you would be knowing that gambling is banned in India and hence if your contest falls into gambling category then it will be prohibited so, you have to design your contest in that fashion.
Additionally lottery and gambling is state subject meaning state makes and regulate the law so you need to be sure about the jurisdiction too.
