Fraud from Reliance Nippon/Northern India Finserve Pvt Ltd in Money back plan
2 years ago
PLEASE SUGGEST...HELP!
An agent sold me "Reliance Nippon Insurance money back" of 50k/year. The agent gave a number and a person(claiming to be relationship manager) who coordinated on phone thereafter. The plan was presented as if you pay 50k/year for 4 years and you will get 3 lakh after 4 years and also said to pay premium by credit card (so all interest on EMI will waived off) and get 5% bonus.
They represented themselves from Reliance Nippon employee but were a 3rd party vendor to Reliance named "Mr. North India Finserve Pvt Ltd".
I took the insurance but never got EMI rebate back even they even asked Credit card statement once but kept still kept delaying. They also told me once on call that if you pay advance payment of upcoming premium then in next year in April you can withdraw 130000 even after paying just two time premium.
When i call Reliance customer care number, then they told there is no scheme like that and no EMI interest refund policy is there.
Also they now say policy is for 15 years and not 4 years and if you withdraw you will only get Rs.70000 instead of 3 lacs.
I have been cheated by mis-advertisement by that agent and its clear fraud. I would have not opted for this Reliance plan if false promises were not made.
As a proof i have all recordings of that agent where he says he is from Reliance as well as all those fake promises.
Also there are various review platforms where number of people have been cheated in same pattern and same company and even same agent.
What can be done, depending on the proof i have. Can i get my premiums back as i have already paid 2 premiums till now.

you had 15 days to return policy if it was mis-selling by agent.
you can file FIR for fraud on agent but police will not take it. so you have to file private case.

You have a legal remedy for fraud but such remedy is available against those who cheated on you but not against the Reliance. If there are other people involved then you can all approach a lawyer and file a joint petition.
