Toxic parents
I am 28, pursuing PhD, my family is being extremely toxic from childhood, they have always been very authoritative towards me..
They have always pressured to take decisions according to them only, whether to choose subjects or to choose the college or to study what they want.
They have emotionally tortured a lot to do things according to them only...
Their is no respect of my opinions and feelings.
No one listens to me.
And now when I want to marry someone of another caste.
They are still manipulating me, torturing me. It's been 2 yrs since I have told about the boy, he is well settled, PhD, govt job,own house,
Nothing that they can ignore.
But just because of caste. They are emotionally torturing me to leave him.
Being in a toxic family from childhood without love and affection, I can't handle it more now
What should I do

You can marry anyone you like, if you want.
if he is well settled then why he is not marrying you ?
after marriage you will be staying with him and will be away from your house.

There are no specific laws for dealing with your family in this situation. However, legally they cannot stop you from getting married since you have attained majority.

You are a major and you can make your decisions. You can get married under the Special Marriage Act, 1956 without taking your parent's consent.

As far as your marriage is concerned as you as are an adult hence you are free to choose your partner and marry him no one can oppose or stop that as per the law. Go ahead and get yourself married under the Special Marriage Act,1954. Apply for the same to the marriage registrar.
It is called possessiveness by parents due to two reasons that is due to extreme love or extreme hatred. You can choose either to continue relationship with them or stay separately.
