My grandfather is having a house and he wishes to transfer it to me, but the problem is, verbally (IN WORDS) he assured, the house will be given to my uncle, but now my grandfather is adamant to transfer this property to me.

Please help me how can I get this property gets transferred to me, in a very easy way, by any documents or something.

A.Hi,
Regardless of whether your grandfather promised your uncle that the property will be transferred, such a promise has no legal standing. He has the option of transferring his property to whoever he wants, and he can do it using a registered document to avoid any future legal issues. He can either leave his property to you through a will, sell it, or give it to you through a gift deed.

A.Hi,
Your grandfather will need to use a formal document to transfer the property. He can either prepare a will or use a gift deed to give you the property verbal assurance is not valid or binding on him unless it is an oral contract.

A.If the property/ house is self acquired property of your grand father then he can transfer it to you in two ways that is either through a will or through a gift deed. Now a will can come into play only after his death and gift deed can be executed while he is still alive.

A.There are two easy options available. Your grandfather can either make a registered will wherein he gives you said property after his lifetime or if he wishes to transfer the same in his lifetime, he can gift the property to you by a registered gift deed. However, for gifting a property, certain stamp duty and registration charges are to be paid depending on the state you belong to.

You can approach a local lawyer and get assistance depending on the option you decide to avail.
