Legal separation and/or disown family member Legal separation and/or disown family member

My sister in law and mother in law are really bad people. They mentally harrass me and ask for money every now and then. On top of that they have a loose character because of which me and my husband not only fell into very very awkward situations, but have been into trouble also so many times. We are normal salaried people, can't afford to get into more trouble because of them or get the impact on my husbands job. Please suggest a way how to disown them or any other way. I lost my IVF cycle also because of tremendous stess given by my mother in law.

A.Hi,
There is no law in Indian legal system to legally disown your family. But you can publicly disassociate with them by publishing it in the local or national newspaper. And for harassment you file for cruelty under section 498-A under IPC against your in-laws.

A.Hi,
There is no specific laws for disowning parents in India. But you can officially disassociate with them by publishing the same in the newspaper which could be in local language also. If you want to take criminal action against harassment committed by your relative, you can file FIR under IPC.
