Due to lack of friends and social life, i went on a dating app. I matched with a woman of age 20yrs(i am 20 too). We talked on the app for a while and she asked for my whatsapp number. I gave her the number and she messaged me on whatsapp. Then she called me on whatsapp and i heard her voice for first time and confirmed she was a woman. Then she called whatsapp video called me and she was not wearing any clothes and not showing her face. She told me to remove my clothes and show it to her. I refused many times but gave into it. I didnt know that she was recording the video call without my knowledge and my without my permission. The call went only for 10-20secs. Then she sent me the recording and started asking for 11 thousand rs to delete it or she will upload it on yt. i ignored her and blocked and reported her number. this happened on saturday. On monday afternoon, I get a call from an inspector from cyber crime investigations that a complaint has been reported AGAINST me and one other person by youtube manager. The inspector told me talk to the manager if i want to remove the complaint. I talked to the manager and told him about this blackmailing. He asked for 21 thousand rs from me to delete the video from youtube. I didnt give him anything. 1 day has gone by and I havent received any call or msg from police or youtube. I dont know if the video is on yt or not. I dont know if the complaint is taken back by yt.
The manager at yt thinks that I am uploading the video because the scammer has written my name and number on it. I am scared to death. Pls help me. What should be my next legal steps?

You can immediately get in touch with your nearest cyber crime cell and tell them what has happened. Further you may also consider filing a case u/S 415 and 383 IPC for extortion and defrauding.
If you find my answer helpful then kindly rate me.
You might have been preyed upon by some fraudster. If you have the phone number of the girl then you can file a police complaint u/S 415 IPC for cheating and also u/S 383 for extortion.

If it was uploaded (which is unlikely in this situation), YouTube would have already removed it as per their policy. If you do fine the video, send the link and your complaint to [email protected].
Don't worry, all these cyber frauds are usually very elaborate and the call from the police was probably fake as well. You can check the same by calling and confirming the police station from which the call was made.
Lastly, if you do receive any further calls, record them for evidence and file an FIR with the Cyber crime department.
