I am a new resident of mira road and have been booked under ipc 279 and 184. The situation - i was trying to take a u turn which passed few blocks when the police caught. They told me you have to pay fine at the police station and over there file a fir directly. Till date I have already paid 2500 rupees to the sub inspector they have not given a single piece of paper / receipt of anything. And have take my driving license. This happened on 12th April and about 2 months now. I keep visiting the police station but they say Kal ao hojayga.

A.See for the Sections there is either a fine of Rs. 1000 or punishment of 6 months. So, hire a lawyer, pay a fine of Rs 1000 and get rid of this.

Section 279 in The Indian Penal Code
279. Rash driving or riding on a public way.—Whoever drives any vehicle, or rides, on any public way in a manner so rash or negligent as to endanger human life, or to be likely to cause hurt or injury to any other person, shall be punished with im­prisonment of either description for a term which may extend to six months, or with fine which may extend to one thousand rupees, or with both.

Section 184 in The Motor Vehicles Act, 1988
184. Driving dangerously.—Whoever drives a motor vehicle at a speed or in a manner which is dangerous to the public, having regard to all the circumstances of the case including the nature, condition and use of the place where the vehicle is driven and the amount of traffic which actually is at the time or which might reasonably be expected to be in the place, shall be punishable for the first offence with imprisonment for a term which may extend to six months or with fine which may extend to one thousand rupees, and for any second or subsequent offence if committed within three years of the commission of a previous similar offence with imprisonment for a term which may extend to two years, or with fine which may extend to two thousand rupees, or with both.

You can only be charged up to Rs. 1000 depending on the sections under which you are charged. Please seek the advice of an appropriate attorney so that no one can wrongfully commit you.

A.Hi,
As per the sections that you are charged under you can only be charged up to Rs. 1000. Kindly consult a suitable advocate and take necessary action.

A.Aap kisi advocate ko appointed kar sakte hai. Or court se is dispute ko solved kar sakte hai.
