Cybercrime
I had joined an Gurgaon based IT company in 2013, as a security expert. At that time, my role was to carry out routine security checkups, testing anti - virus software etc. I left the company in 2014 (after 6 months), for a better prospect. Last month, I came to know that, that company was actually run by cyber criminals, who stole data and attacked networks. Now my name is mentioned in 7 F.I.Rs, filed in various parts of the country (Arunachal Pradesh, Uttarakhannd, Karnataka, Bihar, Delhi, Maharashtra, Meghalaya) by victims of this IT company. I never knew anything about this, and was never personally involved in malpractice. I just thought that this is another IT company. Am I still liable to punishment?
First get anticipatory bail.
When the company's main work is cyber crime then your all and any work is part of the crime. But yes you can defend yourself by just being true to the investigation and let them know what they want to know.

You will have to prove your innocence by leading and adducing evidence in your favor. You will have prove that you took employment in the company with bonafide interest, the company had made false representations and you were not aware of the true nature and the actions of the company. You will also have to prove that you had never participated in any wrongful action done by the company, whether knowingly or not. You will have to establish your case.
