Regarding IDBI deep dicount bond .

Sir i have purchased deep discount bond 1996 which IDBI promised to give me 2 lac rupees after 25 years but now they are giving only 17000.

A.Hi,
As per your narration, there might have been a gross deficiency by the bank with regards to the services they offer. You can directly approach the ombudsman and register a complaint there or you have the additional option of filing a complaint against the bank before the consumer forum.

You can file a consumer complaint before the consumer dispute redressal forum against the bank for deficiency in service. You may also approach the banking ombudsman of your region and post your query at his office.

Please try to find out what is the reason for this low returns on investment? If there is anything which you think or find as wrong then you can move the court against them. Also check whether the investment was linked to market risk or not. But I am a bit surprised that given all conditions it can never fall down to so less.
Please investigate properly, it may happen that your advisor or the consultant is playing mischief.
