How to get my security deposit back?
I entered in a leave and license agreement for a flat. I am the licensee/ tenant. I am using this flat to run a PG style accommodation for mutiple bachelors. During covid 19 I was unable to pay full rent as per the signed leave and license agreement. After the term of the agreement I have vacated the flat but licensor/landlord is refusing to return the deposit which was adjusted against the unpaid rent. How can I get my deposit back?
A.Dear Sir,
You may get issue a legal notice and pandemic situation is known to everybody and some State Governments asked the landlords to charge only 50% of rent or to view of entire rent. You may get issue a legal notice and file a civil suit.

A.Hi,
Your legal option is to send a legal notice demanding the deposit. If he is not responding positively, file a recovery suit , you can get the amount with interest till the realization of amount and the compensation for harassment, legal cost, and court fee. Send the notice and wait for the notice period and file a police complaint along with the copy of the legal notice. If the police can negotiate a talk without going to court you can get your money.

A.Hi,
You ought to have issued legal notice to the landlord before vacating the premises. Issue a lawyer's notice now to him expressing your intention to vacate and claim the recovery of the advance deposit. If he refuses to refund the deposit then you may file a lawsuit for recovery along with interest against him.

A.Send him a legal notice through lawyer then file a civil case to recover you security money due from him. As per the agreement he should have returned the money but not doing so is breach of agreement for which you can also ask for compensation.
