A.Dear Sir,
Normally, there will be no any troubles since you are holding an non-profit post that is the post of secretary and it cannot be hit by provisions of Advocates Act. You may see the provisions of Advocates Act and recent rules framed by Bar Council of India.

A.Hi,
If you are the resident of the apartment, and a member of the society, then surely you can choose to be appointed as the secretary of the society. Generally, every society has its own by-laws and rules, regarding the qualifications of a member to become the secretary. If you meet those qualifications, then surely you can be appointed as the secretary of the society.
