As per irdai norms is it mandatory or optional for health insurance companies to provide voice conversation on demand by insured person along with transcripts in case of dispute before the expiry of policy term , when proposal form is not signed physically

It is mandatory to produce such evidence. On submission of such evidence they will process the same and take a decision. If such decision is against you then you may approach Insurance Ombudsman.

A.Hi,
As per the guidelines, the records pertaining to every call made and SMS sent by a Telemarketer/Corporate Agent/Broker that materializes into a policy shall be transferred to the insurer’s location within 30 days of conclusion of sale. In case of telephone calls the records transferred shall be the recordings of the entire conversation. These calls are recorded for scrutiny purposes only.

These IRDAI Guidelines cover distance marketing activities of insurers/brokers and corporate agents (with specific approval of insurers) at the stages including offer, negotiation as well as conclusion of sale. They are not however not bound to release it bound to their policies.

A.They will not provide you when you just ask them as they are not bound to give it to you but if you are able to get a court order for the same then they will be bound to provide you the recording or the transcript.
