My friend is telling that very soon he will do suicide. So I have to inform police or should wait?

Instead of waiting or going to police help your friend to not take such steps and suggest him of counseling and also contact his / her parents and relatives and inform them about the same.

It would be suggested to contact your friend and help him out to not take such harsh steps on his life. Or try contacting his parents or relatives so that they could take care of him.

A.First understand what makes your friend reveal his intention of committing suicide before you. If he is trying to extort something from you by pressurizing you then it would be a safe bet to gather and save all the evidences to that effect and if required then to file a criminal case against such friend. In case he is going through a depression then you must immediately talk to his parents and try to convince them of the necessity to consult a psychological expert or medical help to save him. It would a less of a police help and more of a case of compassion and care.
