A.Dear Sir,
You have to file a civil suit to claim such amount. You being the nominee entitled to recover such proceeds of the cheque. You must approach SBI Bank first and if rejected then approach HDFC Bank and get endorsements from both the banks.

A.A banker's cheque is Demand Draft only but payable locally. You can deposit the banker's cheque in your existing account and the bank where you have your account will send this to the issuing bank for clearing. You do not have to open a new bank account to encash this.

A.HI,
If the bank has issued the banker's cheque, then you can get the cheque cleared in any of your account in any bank. Every bank would accept it. You can also open a new account with sbi and deposit the cheque there.

A.Hi,
Every bank would accept it. You can deposit the cheque in any of your bank account and it would be cleared. It is highly unlikely that your cheque would be dishonored by the bank.

A.Banker's cheque is a mode of transfer of money and every bank accept banker's cheque issued by any other bank. Though being nominee you are entitled to receive money but under law you are bound to divide the money among all legal heirs of father if father has died intestate.
