Advice on family tension Advice on family tension

We are living in a somewhat joint family. It is 3 brothers living in same house on separate floors with our mother. My younger brother's wife for absolutely no known reason is trying to create problems here. She is completely after my mother trying new ways to instigate her. We have moved in here about 4 months ago and she has started torturing my 13 year old son by destroying his things he plays with. Everyone here is afraid of her as she threatens that she would get all in family into jail. On top of it, because she is pregnant, no one here wants to create issue here with her. I am not sure why, but her acts are insane. I am concerned about security of my son as I see possibility of her harming my son. Most people here in our neighbouhood have advised me to seek police help and file a complaint for harrasment. Though things are not so dirty between us brothers, I have never thought of going to such extents, but for the sake of our family I need to know what are my option. It is all because laws are so bent towards women, it is easy to misuse them. Looking for your advice. Thank you

A.Hi,
Harassment is defined in Section 294 of the Criminal Code. To annoy and torture another individual, it is prohibited to engage in indecent behavior in public or to repeat or utter obscene words in public. The offender may face up to three years in jail, a fine, or both if prosecuted under section 294 of the Indian Penal Code. You can submit a formal complaint with the local police station, claiming that someone or something is at risk. If the situation remains, you may want to consider living apart.
Thank you very much.

A.Hi,
Section 294 defines the act of harassment. It is illegal to do indecent conduct in public or to repeat or say obscene remarks in public in order to irritate and torment another person. The perpetrator would be charged under section 294 of the Indian Penal Code and may face up to three years in prison, as well as a fine or both. You can file a legal complaint with the nearest police station stating the fact that there is danger to person or property. You can also seek to live separately if the problem persists.
Thank you.
