What remedy does my son have to get a divorce from her? What remedy does my son have to get a divorce from her?

My daughter in law walked out on my son on 17th October 2019 just after 1.6 years of marriage and is staying separately since then. They were staying away from us due to their jobs. Reason: 1. Irreconcilable differences of opinions and viewpoints between them. 2. My daughter in law does not want him to have relations with us.
Initially, both of them used to come down to spend the weekends with us. Gradually she stopped coming and used to go to her parent's house when my son came down to us. He is the only son we have. My wife and I have medical issues.
My son tried his best to reason out with her to stay with us, but she disregarded and left him. My son is now disgusted with her and wants separation from her. But, she will not divorce with mutual consent. She will contest.
What remedy does my son have to get a divorce from her?

A.Your son can file divorce case and for filing divorce case your son does not require any consent or permission from his wife. Your daughter in law has every right to oppose the divorce petition filed by your son and also to refute allegations as would be levelled by your son seeking divorce. Your daught in law is also entitled to maintenance, independent residence, alimony and other legal remedies.

A.Hi,
Divorce occurs when one spouse abandons the other for no apparent reason (for example, abuse). The spouse who abandons the other, on the other hand, should desire to abandon and be able to demonstrate it. The desertion must have lasted at least two years, according to Hindu law. Christians, on the other hand, will be unable to file for divorce as a result of this. If the wife is unable to agree to a mutual divorce, it is preferable to seek a divorce under dissertation.
Thank you very much.

A.Hi,
Divorce is triggered when one spouse abandons the other without good reason (for example, abuse). Christians, on the other hand, will not be able to apply for divorce merely because of this. If the wife is not ready for mutual divorce then it is better to take recourse for divorce under desertion.
Thank you.
