What should I do if My wife always use to nag me and use to insult me for everthing in my marriage, she and her mother has caused me so much mental abuse. She use to leave to her mother house on and off when ever she is angry and use to Black mail me about divorce(I have voice records of her conversations of her and her mom) . Lastly she left me because I gave our savings to my parents without consulting her , later on their family members came to me to discuss to which I turned off and said them that iam done with her. She has the bank statements of me taking dowry and money every month from her parents. Now I came to know she is planning to keep harassment case and for divorce. What should I do?? Should I go for settlement or should I proceed legally??

A.Hi,
Dowry is a punishable offence and would attract legal complications. If a harassment case is initiated against you, then you can show the voice recordings as proof which prove the opposite of her claims. It is always advisable for you to settle the issues out of court and amicably and filing a case must be seen as the last option. If your wife is ready for a settlement, please go ahead with it.

A.In case your wife is panning to file both civil and criminal cases against you then you need to very careful. Intimate your local police station through a GD about the incidence so that when she files a complaint with police you can save yourself.
Secondly for the civil ( divorce ) case you can either wait for her to file then you can respond or else you can file a case first if you wish.
