Migration of group health insurance policy to family floater policy Migration of group health insurance policy to family floater policy

I am leaving my current organization and 30th Sep'21 is my last day in the organization. I would not be joining any another organization. Hence, I would like to migrate the group health insurance (provided by my organization) to family floater policy (premium paid by me). Can you please let me know if there is any regulation from IRDAI which mandates this kind of migration to protect the rights of the insured? And if yes, then please share the details of this regulation.

A.Dear Sir,
You may approach insurance ombudsman if clauses of first policy allows such transfer from one policy to another.

A.Hi,
When you and your family members are covered in a group health insurance policy, you are eligible to migrate it to a family floater policy at the time of exiting the job. There is no regulation that mandates the migration from group health insurance to family floater policy in order to protect the rights of the insured.
Thank you.
