Change of bride address in marriage certificate Change of bride address in marriage certificate

2 years ago

Hi, I am Indian citizen in from Gujarat. My wife is USA citizen born in Gujarat. We get married this Feb 2021 in Gujarat.

While registering for marriage, mistakenly we mentioned Indian address for bride's address in marriage certificate. Certificate is issued by Gram panchayat of the village.

Now, I want to change marriage certificate with her USA address. Because without her USA address mentioned in marriage certificate, it might not be valid for making an immigration file for me. As USA immigration department can't identify address in marriage certificate.

So, my query is how can I get change my marriage certificate with bride's address changed. Is it possible? If yes, then how can I do this?

Thanks for your valuable inputs.

A.Dear Client,
You do the following;
1. Reach our to the Gram Panchayat and submit an application for change of address providing all the relevant documents in support of that.
2. If they do it good and if they don't do it then reach out to the court ( Preferably High Court) and file an application against Panchayat seeking a direction from the court to change the address.

OR
File a declaratory suit in any court (as per the jurisdiction) and then go the panchayat with the order copy for change.

OR
Get a 1st class Judicial Magistrate Affidavit done and go to the panchayat with that for change.
