HRA rent receipt
Hi, my tenant paid only 10000Rs rent in FY year but submitted self generated rent receipts for 3lakh to employer with my PAN. Income tax highlighted discrepancy. If I demand tenant to get it corrected through employer, his forgery will be revealed (genuine kid, did it to save some money in tax), and he may loose employment. Same time, I need to sort out my income tax notice for money I never received. What’s the way out ?
