Loud music sound in the night from 6pm to 9pm

Hello, my name is Ayush Verma 22 years old. I'm a engineering student and employee at a software company. I use to study and work from home but my neighbour use to play loud music whenever he wants and whenever we talk to them politely to lower down the volume he says that go and complain I don't give a shit about it and I will get released in 4 days. I'm really depressed don't know what to do?

Lodge a complaint under section 8 of the Noise Pollution (Regulation and Control) Rules, 2000 with the local police station to prevent such neighbour from playing loud music beyond standard limit of 45 DB(A) at odd hours of night. Moreover, creating noise is considered to be a public nuisance under Section 290 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860. So any noise which causes any injury, danger or annoyance to the public is considered to be noise pollution. For example, if your neighbour plays a sound system at midnight very loudly, then this is a public nuisance.
